Welcome, if you are new to my blog!
If you are not new and are returning, thank you for following my art journey.
I recently did a poll on my Instagram asking if I should continue my blog posts and was shocked with how many people were interested! (yaass)
I cannot express enough how much the support means to me. Especially during this challenging time for all of us, Knowing my art is continuing to help people allows me to push through difficult times and my creative blocks. My most recent creative block is paying off big time by the way!
But first, I want to announce something I have been waiting 6 months to post on social media but couldn't due to legalities.
I am officially a 2020 Artist in residence at Cherry St. Pier in Philadelphia, PA!
For those of you who don’t know an artist residency is an opportunity for me to connect with other professional creatives and build on my career. I applied for this last year and found out in the spring I got accepted from a large pool of applicants. This blog post was actually intended to be written back in March and posted but due to the virus my move-in date for the studio/announcement was postponed.
I am so happy for this opportunity to connect with my community and share my art in my own professional studio. I have created a strong art business in less than a year without a degree in the field and it just keeps thriving, thanks to my supporters! To the people that purchased my work please know I am appreciative of you all for helping me reach this milestone.
I hope everyone has been safe during this time. I will be taking all safety precautions when it comes to sanitation in my studio. Cherry St. Pier is a place where the public is allowed to enter the studios and buy work, they serve food and drinks, and the view on the waterfront under the Ben Franklin Bridge in their seating area is stunning! If you've never been I recommend checking it out.
I will have my most recent work for sale in my studio starting in July. I am in the transition of moving in but am expected to be finished within the next week.
Stay tuned to my Instagram posts for specific dates on upcoming events at the pier and workshops I will be hosting in my studio. I'm planning to have hand sanitizer and be wearing a mask during this time to follow all guidelines. I am also doing individual appointments as well if you are interested in commissioning a piece or if due to the virus a small group isn't appealing to you I will make appointments to work one on one. Before the virus shut down I was intending to hold an expressive sip and paint, my parent and me paint class, and possibly an epoxy resin introductory workshop.
If any of this is something you are interested in, you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will be in touch soon!.
I am looking forward to sharing my goals while at the pier with everyone!
I will leave a link below to visit Cherry St. Pier.
I hope to see new smiling faces surrounded by art soon on the Delaware River Waterfront!
Stay happy and healthy,
